When I met Jessica and Michael, Jess had said that she knew she always wanted to get married in a castle. When they went to view Powderham Castle, they knew it was the perfect place for their classic and romantic wedding in Devon.
Jessica got ready at her family home. Her sister arranged all her flowers, from the bouquet to an arch over Powderham Church. The warm shades of red and yellow were perfect for a romantic early autumn look.
The ceremony took place at Powderham Church. The church, nestled away, has such an intimate feel. It’s a perfect match with the castle for those who still want a church wedding.
Photographing weddings in Devon, there are so many beautiful venues, and Powderham Castle is one of the best for a classical, romantic Devon backdrop. The castle is striking in itself, and you also have view over the river Exe complete with deer roaming the grounds and beautiful garden full of roses.
The light was just perfect as the evening started to approach, and even the deer came to watch all the guests celebrating with the couple in the gardens.
Onto to the reception and the evening. Jessica and Michael had a travel theme, with both of them being keen travellers. Even the cake showed the many destinations they had been together.
Thank you for letting me photograph your wedding day Jessica and Michael. And I wish you much happiness together as Mr & Mrs xx
